Sir Richard Sykes Prize

It is the intention of the Society that the above award be awarded annually to a Young Investigator (under 35 years) who is a member of the Society, for the best contribution published in the Society’s Journal, The Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (JAC) during the preceding year.

 

The young investigator must be the principal author of the paper, which may be a Research Paper, a Leading Article or a Review.When the paper is submitted to JAC the corresponding author should request that the paper, if accepted for publication, be considered for the Award.

 

Thereafter, upon acceptance, a form will be sent to the corresponding author to confirm that all remaining authors agree that the principal author has been responsible for the major contribution to the paper.

 

The award, presented as a cheque to the Young Investigator has a value of £500.

 

The award will be announced in Spring of each year for papers published during the previous calendar year.
