Project and Research Grants

PROJECT GRANTS

 

Maximum value of £10,000 for projects of up to one-year duration.

 

Project grants may be used for the following purposes:

 

  • Pump priming projects
  • Supporting the completion of an existing project
  • Introducing a novel technique for existing work

 

Candidates are expected to provide full justification of project grant funds.

 

 

The number awarded each year will depend on the overall level of funding available for the year in which the grant is applied for. 

  

RESEARCH GRANTS 

 

Maximum value of £45,000 for projects of up to one-year duration.

 

 

The Society supports research grants in the following areas:

 

  • Mechanisms of antibacterial action
  • Mechanisms of antibacterial resistance
  • Antiviral resistance
  • Antiviral
  • Antifungals
  • Antibiotic methods
  • Antibiotic prescribing
  • Antibiotic therapy
  • Antiparisitics
  • Evidence based medicine / systematic reviews

 

HOW TO APPLY

 

Applications for should be made using the form below, and should not exceed 6 A4 pages in length.  Applications must be completed in Arial 10pt font.  CVs must be abridged and should not exceed 2 A4 pages.  Applicants are asked to list no more than their last 10 publications.

 

APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY TO tguise@bsac.org.uk Postal applications may not be considered.  Applications should be contained within the pages of the form provided and should not be submitted with any additional material.

 

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

 

1 November of each year.  Applications are considered in April/May of the following year and applicants are notified by end-May.
