The BSAC Grants Programme is highly competitive. Each year a large number of applications are received in each category.
Potential applicants should consider carefully whether their application meets the objectives of the BSAC grant awarding strategy that is set out in the BSAC Grants Programme section of this website.
Grants are subject to a stringent peer review process by at least 2, and usually 3 independent referees before being considered by Grants Committee. Grants are scored against a variety of indicators that include:
· Originality of project
· Potential value to field of knowledge
· Appropriateness of overall project design
· Feasibility within timescale
· Standing of applicant in the field
· Relevance to beneficiaries
· Resources & cost effectiveness
· Viability and planning
