European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID)

 

The BSAC is an affiliated Member of ESCMID, a non-profit organisation whose mission is to improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases by promoting and supporting research, education and training in the infection disciplines. This is achieved by scientific exchange, educational programmes, grants and awards, certification and consultation with professional and government agencies. Through its activities and publications ESCMID fosters professional exchange and stimulates an open and collaborative spirit nourished by the diversity of European culture.


 

The Society has a seat on its European Council and seeks to identify ways in which the Society can collaborate with ESCMID and its affiliated Societies to improve infectious disease management within europe.

1 More ESCMID funding available in 2008 ESCMID has expanded its awards, grants and fellowships programme: NEW! ESCMID Research Grants (up to EUR 20'000 per project) NEW! ESCMID Training Fellowships (up to EUR 9'600 per individual) The application deadline for 2008 is 1 October 2007. Please check the website for eligibility and application details. We look forward to receiving your proposals.

2 The new ESCMID Training and Career Centre is flourishing After being online for only two months the new job platform was already visited by several job seekers and institutions offering positions. Please browse at www.escmid.org/career for open positions and profiles of applicants.

5 Attendance grant application deadline extended, apply now for the 6th ESCMID Summer School, 1-6 July 2007, Suceava, Romania The application deadline for attendance grants to this one-week course dedicated to postgraduate and continuous medical education has been extended to 23 May 2007.
