BSAC / Industry Educational Collaborative – ECCMID Networking Event

BSAC wishes to thank colleagues from industry for joining the Society reception hosted aboard the schooner Grand Karaya on the evening of 9th May.  Barcelona harbour and coastline, and sunny climes of course, provided a perfect backdrop against which the President, Nick Brown and President-elect, Dilip Nathwani spoke of BSAC’s activities, ambitions and aspirations.  The theme of the evening was tackling the global challenges of antimicrobial resistance through the delivery of international educational initiatives such as stewardship courses of national and local relevance, support tools such as point prevalence survey software and the development of truly global education via development of a BSAC Massive Open Online Learning Course – MOOC being the new acronym of the evening for most!

23 + companies were represented by 51 participants, the weather was more than kind, food and drinks enjoyed but most importantly new opportunities for collaboration were discussed and identified.

The hard work begins away from the hospitality enjoyed by all.  Over the coming months BSAC Council will put together a necessarily ambitious educational programme for which corporate collaboration and support will be sought.

Thank you to all who joined us, we look forward to working with you – please take time to view the gallery of photographs on the home page.

If you were unable to attend but would like further information, please contact Nick Brown, Dilip Nathwani or Tracey Guise via the BSAC office.
