About APUA
The Alliance for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics is a non-profit, international organization solely dedicated to preserving the power of antibiotics. Founded in 1981, APUA conducts educational, research and international networking activities to promote more appropriate use of antibiotics around the world: our international chapters tailor research and interventions to local customs and practices.
APUA UK Chapter
The APUA UK Chapter was established in May 2003 and is hosted by the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy. It is the latest of over 45 affiliated international chapters and will provide a national network for experts in infectious disease medicine, microbiology, pathology, clinical pharmacology, pharmaceutical industry and consumer issues.
The aim is to develop a national forum for the exchange of objective, up-to-date scientific and clinical information and promotion of educational materials to promote the appropriate use of antibiotics in the UK.
