Welcome to 2011 Educational Workshop series. This year the workshops will address the topic of Endocarditis and address the challenges faced by health professionals in clinical assessment, laboratory diagnosis and treatment options. The workshops will be informed by the revised national Guidelines for the Antibiotic Treatment of Endocarditis in Adults, which we anticipate will be published in advance of the workshops commencing. This important evidence based guidance has been revised in light of the introduction of new antibiotic agents, developments in diagnostics and new trial data.
These increasingly popular workshops are open to microbiologists, infectious disease consultants, scientists, pharmacists, infection control specialists and other interested health professionals working in the areas of infection prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Through plenary lectures, case presentations and workshop discussion, delegates will hear about the latest developments and have the opportunity to share their experiences/expertise and discuss common and rare issues faced in every day practice.
